LA Kings Officially Clinch 2018 Stanley Cup Playoff Berth

LA Kings Playoffs to be Presented by McDonald’s, Toyota, Mercury Insurance and San Manuel Casino

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings have officially qualified for the 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs.  The Kings earned their playoff berth after the Chicago Blackhawks defeated the St. Louis Blues tonight in St. Louis.

The schedule for the first round of the playoffs – the Kings are currently third in the Pacific Division with a 44-28-8 record and 96 points – will be announced by the National Hockey League this weekend.  The Kings will announce their postseason broadcast schedules once they are finalized.

In addition, the Kings have announced the 2018 LA Kings Playoffs will be presented by McDonald’s, Toyota, Mercury Insurance and San Manuel Casino.  The Kings Four Presenting Playoff Partners have been long time season partners of the team and look to enhance their exposure throughout the playoff run as the Kings embark on their journey towards their third Stanley Cup.      

Single game tickets for the first four home games of the Stanley Cup Playoffs Round 1 will go on sale to the general public tomorrow, Thursday, at 10 a.m. as announced tonight as well.  Complete ticket information is available at LAKings.com/playoffs and by calling 1-888-KINGS-LA.  Private Event Suites and tickets for groups of 15 or more are also available for the first four home games of Round 1 at this time.  
 
The Kings expect to distribute an electronic version and a printed version of their 2018 Postseason Media Guide beginning as early as Monday.  The Kings Communications Department will also soon distribute its General Media Playoff Information procedural guidelines.

To celebrate the team’s 2018 playoff run, the Kings and Kings Care Foundation will give back to the city of Los Angeles as part of a #PlayOffItForward campaign.  The charitable initiative will engage team personnel, fans, partners and the community through a series of events, initiatives and fundraising opportunities in the spirit of giving back.  To kick off the campaign, the Kings will partner with Bikes for Kids to surprise an entire elementary school grade with a bike of their own.  Subsequent events and opportunities for fans to contribute will be announced on LAKings.com.

The Kings played their first ever playoff game 50 years ago today, earning a 2-1 win against the Minnesota North Stars.  The Kings play their final two games – both at home – tomorrow, Thursday (versus Minnesota at 7:30 p.m.) and Saturday on Fan Appreciation Night (versus Dallas at 7:30 p.m.)  Both games will be broadcast on FOX Sports West and KABC Radio 790 with pregame shows beginning at 7 p.m.
