LA Galaxy Foundation Hosts Second Annual LA Galaxy High School Girls’ Summit presented by Southern New Hampshire University

AEG’s LA Galaxy Foundation recently welcomed 80 high school female athletes to attend the second annual LA Galaxy High School Girls’ Summit presented by Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif. on Saturday, September 28.

Throughout the day, student female athletes from local school districts and at-risk communities heard from and met with former collegiate athletes and female executives from AEG, LA Galaxy, Los Angeles Lakers, Dignity Health, SNHU, LA Kings and LA Chargers through a series of panels, workshops and roundtable discussions.

The Summit kicked off with a Positive Coaching Alliance workshop promoting “Better Athletes, Better People” led by Long Beach local and former UCLA collegiate softball player, Marti Reed and resume tips and social media presence advice from the LA Galaxy Human Resources team, followed by the panel “Set Up for Success: On and Off the Field” and roundtable discussions.

The Summit featured local Carson community business, Juice-C-Juice Books & More, who brought fresh-pressed juices for the attendees to sample and enjoy, encouraging a healthy lifestyle. High school students also received giveaways from the LA Galaxy Foundation and SNHU, in addition to raffle prizes provided by AEG Presents.

The LA Galaxy High School Girls’ Summit was a continuation of the LA Galaxy Women’s Leadership Series which empowers female student-athletes with knowledge and opportunities to inspire the next generation of leaders in Los Angeles.
