LA Galaxy Foundation Celebrates Women’s Equality Day with SoulCycle Fundraiser to Benefit LA Galaxy Girls’ Academy

Fundraiser precedes launch of AEG’s LA Galaxy Girls’ Academy debut in inaugural season of U.S. Soccer Girls’ Development Academy

In celebration of Women’s Equality Day and the launch of AEG’s LA Galaxy Girls’ Academy, the LA Galaxy Foundation teamed up with LA Galaxy player Sebastian Lletget and international recording artist Becky G to host a SoulCycle Charity Ride on Aug. 25 in Manhattan Beach, Calif.

LA Galaxy fans, staff and Girls’ Academy players came together to ride for a cause and raised $1200 to benefit the LA Galaxy Girls’ Academy community efforts throughout the 2017 season.

The launch of the LA Galaxy Girls’ Academy is the first and only Girls’ Academy program to be fully-funded by a Major League Soccer team, allowing talented local athletes to join free of charge. LA Galaxy is committed to developing young leaders in the Los Angeles community through the vehicle of soccer and integration of leadership development programming in partnership with local community organizations.

Women’s Equality Day commemorates the date in which women officially became part of the United States Constitution in 1920.
