The Bowery Presents Appoints Don Simpson as Chief Operating Officer

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- As its East Coast footprint and business operations continue to expand, The Bowery Presents announced that veteran music industry executive Don Simpson has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of the company.

In the newly created position, Simpson, who brings over 30 years of entertainment experience in senior management, concert promotion, business development, operations and strategic development to the company, will be responsible for the design and implementation of all business strategies, plans and procedures. He will provide support in new venue opportunities and development, upgrades and enhancements to existing venues, and the review and enhancement of all internal operations to maximize benefits to the company.

“We are pleased to have Don return to New York and join our growing team,” said Jim Glancy, partner at The Bowery Presents. “His business acumen and knowledge of the industry will serve as a great addition to our growing company.”

“Based on past experience working together, we know that Don will quickly be a great asset to our company,” said John Moore, partner at The Bowery Presents. “Don’s business and operational skillset are unparalleled, and we are glad to welcome him to our team.”

Simpson began in the music industry as the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for MCA Concerts Canada, when he started the company in 1990, before taking over operations as President for the following fifteen years. Through the company name changes to Universal Concerts Canada and then House of Blues Concerts Canada, Simpson was instrumental in transforming the company into the dominant promoter in Canada. Following the sale of the concert company in 2007, Simpson relocated to New York to serve as EVP, Productions and Business Development of Madison Square Garden Entertainment for eight years, and then provided support to AEG Presents during their 2017 partnership negotiations with The Bowery Presents. He was most recently COO of The Feldman Agency, Canada’s leading talent agency and management company.

“I am extremely honored to be joining The Bowery Presents and having the opportunity to work with Jim and Jomo and their amazing team again. I have watched The Bowery Presents continue to grow over the last few years and I am extremely excited to be a part of this great company and all of their amazing venues,” said Simpson.
