AEG employees competed for third-straight year in triathlon’s Entertainment Industry Challenge

In a combined effort to advance its employees’ health and well-being and continue its longstanding support of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), AEG – the world’s leading sports and live entertainment company – raised more than $60,000 for CHLA through its involvement with the Nautica Malibu Triathlon on Sunday, Sept. 16 in Malibu, Calif.

More than 70 AEG employees on the AEG Tri Team competed in a half-mile ocean swim, 17-mile bike ride and four-mile run to benefit CHLA in conjunction with the race’s Entertainment Industry Challenge, which encourages teams from companies in the entertainment industry to fundraise the most for CHLA.

“I am beyond proud of our AEG Tri Team for all of the work they’ve put into training and fundraising for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Our team has not only continued to grow each year with increased enthusiasm from our employees, but we were able to more than double our fundraising from the previous year,” said Ted Fikre, Vice Chairman and Chief Legal and Development Officer, AEG.

“We look forward to continuing our efforts in providing health and wellness opportunities for our employees and participating in the Nautica Malibu Triathlon next year,” said Fikre.

The AEG Tri Team also welcomed its first sponsor, Golden Road Brewing, a staple brewery in the Los Angeles community and affiliate of Golden Road Aquatics, a private swim team comprised of 150 swimmers, triathletes and professional swimmers.

Funds raised through the Nautica Malibu Triathlon will go toward pediatric cancer research at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
