AEG Partners With the Arbor Day Foundation to Plant 10,000 Trees in Honor of Earth Month

In recognition of Earth Month, AEG has partnered with the Arbor Day Foundation to plant 10,000 trees to support reforestation projects in Alabama and Michigan. AEG operates venues and music festivals in both states, including two of the company’s premier music festivals Hangout Music Festival and Electric Forest. The partnership coincides with the 50th anniversary of the Arbor Day Foundation and the 150th anniversary of the Arbor Day holiday. In exchange for having a tree planted and commemorated in their name, AEG employees are encouraged to submit an Earth Month pledge detailing how they are committing to reducing their carbon footprint and practicing sustainability during the month.

The company has also launched a new Business Resource Group (BRG) focused on sustainability, People for the Planet @AEG. Established as the next iteration of its AEG 1EARTH Ambassadors program, this new BRG will focus on supporting AEG’s global efforts to reduce its environmental impact and drive sustainable business value.

“Sustainability has long been important to AEG’s business and we’re proud of our continued industry leadership when it comes to sustainability in live events,” said Erik Distler, VP of Sustainability for AEG. “This year, our focus during Earth Month is centered on one of our most important stakeholders – our employees. We're thrilled to partner with the Arbor Day Foundation and have several activities, including expert panel discussions, occurring throughout the month to celebrate our colleagues, provide education and awareness on sustainability issues, and inspire action for the planet in our communities.”

“Our partnership with AEG empowers us to make a meaningful impact on these vital forest ecosystems.” said Dan Lambe, Chief Executive of the Arbor Day Foundation “The world needs trees now more than ever, and we’re grateful to have partners like AEG who recognize the urgency of that need.”
