AEG FACILITIES SELECTED TO MANAGE

GLENDALE ARIZONA’S GILA RIVER ARENA

Glendale, AZ, GA & LOS ANGELES, CA (April 27, 2016) – AEG Facilities and the City of Glendale have entered into an agreement for the Los Angeles-based international sports, entertainment and venue organization to manage Gila River Arena, the 18,300-seat multi-purpose arena home of the NHL’s Arizona Coyotes, concerts, family shows and other sporting and special events.

As part of the multi-year agreement, AEG Facilities will provide support services, including event programming, purchasing, vendor venue services, advertising, marketing and event-day operations for the arena which is anchored by the Westgate Entertainment District and also adjacent to the University of Phoenix Stadium.

“We are looking forward to working with the City of Glendale to manage one of the most important arenas in the southwest,” said Chuck Steedman, Chief Operating Officer AEG Facilities. “Glendale is known as a premier destination for high-profile entertainment and sporting events and with the exceptional lines of sight for hockey along with a storied history of hosting some of music’s most important and popular artists, Gila River Arena provides the perfect setting for sports and entertainment alike.”

In addition, AEG Facilities will activate its industry leading proprietary initiatives at Gila River Arena including AEG S.A.F.E., AEG 1Source, AEG 1EARTH, AEG 1Force, AEG Encore and AEG Energy Services.

“AEG Facilities has an exceptional track record of managing arenas and not only understands the National Hockey League (NHL) at a very high level but clearly in the industry leader at operating venues in the most efficient and profitable ways,” said Glendale City Manager Kevin Phelps. “This new partnership with AEG provides the best set of resources and the expertise and economic vision to support the city’s commitment to keep the Coyotes in Glendale and in Arizona while continuing to bring the most popular and important events to the Gila River Arena. Driving attendance and driving revenue are what AEG does best.”
