Job Summary:  Briefly describe the major purpose or objective of the job.

The Box Office Lead is responsible for assisting the Box Office management team with Event Day preparation and Supervising of the Box-Office part-time ticket sellers. The incumbent is responsible for all aspects of the event day operations including, but not limited to: staff breaks, count outs, customer service, coaching/ training and window assignments.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead staff in proper Customer Services Policies including resolving customer issues. Act as the first point of contact for any escalated guest-related issues. Assure consistent, courteous and respectful (including timely) service. This function requires training and empowering staff to execute the related function. Resolve.
  • Assign duties and windows for ticket sales, will call, resolution and phone duty. Updating coverage areas as necessary when the box office is open during the week as well as on event days. Ensures staff receive their breaks on time.
  • Responsible for training all part time ticket sellers. Assist management team with scheduling and disseminate the schedule for department, ensuring all shifts are filled properly.
  • Accurately count drawers and reconcile sales and will call receipts for each seller following their shift.
  • Maintain staff attendance point spreadsheet and report findings to supervisor for further disciplinary action as needed.
  • Assist in event day check list including, but not limited to, ticket pulls, test scanning, counting change banks, preparing seat maps and event notes for staff, testing ticket printers, updating event notes for staff,  and seat checking to ensure day-of seating reflects seating manifest for the individual event.
  • Monitor, maintain, and order all operational and office supplies.
  • Assist Box Office Management team with additional duties as necessary.

Required Qualifications (Job Knowledge, Skills, and Education):

  • High School Diploma or its equivalency
  • 2-4 years Related work experience
  • Experience with box office operations, customer service techniques, computer operations, cash handling procedures
  • Experience in a leadership role
  • Experience using the Veritix ticketing system preferred.
  • Effective communication skills required, in person and phone etiquette
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays. May be required to work overtime
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that may be loud
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel) and Ticketing systems
  • Ability to engage in positive interaction with staff and guests
  • Ability to work well with multiple departments to ensure operation efficiency and success
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, maintain organization, and motivate staff
  • Ability to problem solve, delegate tasks, follow-up, communicate, professionally diffuse volatile situations


Pay Scale: $19.56- $28.53
