Position Summary:

The Digital Strategist and Media Planner develops paid media plans and manages cross-functional projects across marketing, creative, partnerships, and analytics teams. The Digital Strategist and Media Planner will be responsible for creating, presenting, and managing multi-channel digital proposals to promote AEG Presents’ portfolio of tours and festivals, while serving as an advisor for regional offices and other AEG partners. The incumbent will be expected to be proficient in all aspects of digital marketing channels as it relates to budget, audience and creative planning, as well as a strong understanding of ad objectives, flighting, targeting capabilities, asset requirements, and their respective metrics to evaluate campaign performance. Channels include but not limited to Paid Social, Programmatic Display, OTT/CTV,  Audio, Video, Direct to Publisher, and Paid Search. The Digital Media Strategist plays an integral role in gathering key project details, conducting audience research, compiling consumer insights and historical media performance in order to prepare a full cycle mixed media plan and strategy based on set marketing goals.

Essential Functions:

  • Gather brief materials and prepare digital media plans across various AEG business units in collaboration with channel leads and marketing teams, ensuring media mix and budget allocations are delivered against marketing goals and strategies.
  • Provide direction on tactical approach during planning process and work closely with key members of media team (Paid Social, Display + Programmatic, Search) to align on budget optimization, objectives, channel capabilities, audience strategy, creative requirements, site tagging for measurement, and new opportunities.
  • Compile reporting insights to evaluate effectiveness and identify optimization opportunities across digital channels, budgets, audiences, creative, while clearly communicating actionable recommendations to drive ticket sales, event awareness, customer acquisition, and brand initiatives based on media performance + findings throughout the marketing cycle of a tour or festival.
  • Assist with development of channel specific audience strategies, audience reach forecasts, budget pacing targets, and KPI projections.
  • Measure results by compiling mid-flight and post-campaign reporting for performance analysis. Conduct comparative analysis against consumer insights and behavior. Clearly communicating key insights, effectiveness, optimization opportunities, and strategic recommendations to stakeholders
  • Provide project management support to Media team, acting as point of contact to facilitate communication and project requirements between departments, monitoring activity and related outputs that impact marketing plans, campaign measurement, and product launches.
  • Contribute to creation and presentation of media documents, such as media proposals, decks, case studies, training material, and reporting dashboards.
  • Lead internal status calls and project focused meetings to define goals, strategy, deliverables, and deadlines.

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree (4-year) Marketing, Communications or Related Field
  • 2-5 years Related Work Experience
  • Strong understanding of Paid Social platforms, Programmatic, Display, Streaming Audio, Video + CTV/OTT, Paid Search, and each of their capabilities from a budget, strategy, targeting, and planning perspective. Channels include Facebook & Instagram (Meta), Twitter (X), TikTok, Snapchat, Reddit, Trade Desk, DV360, Amazon DSP, Google / YouTube, Search, and Publisher Direct. Hands-on buying and trafficking experience in these platforms is a plus, not required.
  • Extensive experience media planning with focus on direct response campaigns with diverse budget levels, utilizing various awareness strategies, optimization and targeting tactics using first and third party audiences across mix of channels.
  • Extremely well versed in the digital space and media trends, with strong understand of consumer behavior on digital channels and platforms.
  • Knowledgeable of new paid media opportunities, publishers, and vendors.
  • Highly proficient in using Excel using calculated formulas, lookups, and pivot tables, with ability to analyze quantitative marketing data, identify trends, and develop actionable recommendations based on insights.
  • Exceptional verbal and written skills with the capability of clearly presenting media proposals and performance reports.
  • Ability to delegate tasks to members of the team to meet campaign requirements and deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, well organized, and demonstrated experience managing multiple projects and collaborating across teams in fast past environments.
  • Proven ability to learn new tools and processes quickly.

Pay Scale: $77,819-$117,908
