The Role
AXS is seeking a Lead Brand Design Manager to join our team in Los Angeles, CA. In this role, you will lead brand design efforts from early concept through final execution with minimal oversight. You’ll be responsible for maintaining and evolving our brand guidelines, mentoring junior designers, and ensuring consistent visual communication across all touchpoints. You’ll also collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to produce creative solutions that align with core business goals.
What Will You Do?
- Lead, create, develop, and maintain the AXS Brand Guide, iterating frequently to keep it current and refreshed.
- Manage and execute brand design projects from concept through completion with minimal guidance.
- Guide and mentor junior and mid-level designers, offering feedback and support to strengthen team output and professional growth.
- Oversee the consistency of AXS’s visual identity by fully understanding the brand and providing approval or feedback for assets created outside the brand design team.
- Lead the development, delivery, and maintenance of a comprehensive library of content and creative assets.
- Serve as the go-to expert for visual branding, communicating brand standards, ensuring their effective use across teams, and acting as the primary point of contact for brand templates and guidelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners—including marketing, product, and content teams—to ensure cohesive and consistent brand expression.
- Stay current with design trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, regularly bringing new ideas and improvements to the brand design function.
What Will You Bring?
- 4–6 years of professional brand design experience.
- Experience partnering with senior leaders on high-impact projects with minimal oversight.
- Proven ability to build a brand guide from the ground up.
- Strong experience creating brand assets across multiple mediums and platforms.
- Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) with a portfolio of high-impact, brand-aligned work.
- Advanced Figma skills, including collaborative design, scalable design systems, and mentoring others.
- Excellent typography and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to deliver high-quality creative work under tight deadlines.
- Awareness of design and industry trends and the ability to turn insights into fresh, forward-thinking presentations.
- Self-driven with a strong sense of ownership and ability to lead projects end-to-end.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present work and give constructive feedback.
- Problem-solving mindset and openness to feedback.
- Solid understanding of the importance of brand trust.
Pay Scale: $87,919- $128,000
Bonus: This position is eligible for a bonus under the current bonus plan requirements.
