AEG Facilities’ The O2 in London Ranks No. 1 Worldwide

LOS ANGELES, CA (Friday, July 12, 2013) – AEG Facilities once again dominated Pollstar’s 2013 mid-year rankings, accounting for two of the top five arenas worldwide, with 52% of ticket sales and 32% of ticket sales in the top 25, based on concert and show ticket sales. In total, AEG Facilities accounted for more than 5 million tickets sold in the first half of 2013, accumulated from venues across three continents. Twenty-two arenas owned, operated or affiliated with AEG Facilities were named in the list of the top 100 arenas worldwide for the first half of 2013 as compiled by the well-respected concert and venue industry publication Pollstar magazine.

London’s The O2 tops the list at #1, with more than 1.1 million tickets sold in the first half of 2013. The O2 has led the rankings every year since it opened in 2007. Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York placed 3rd, earning AEG Facilities two of the top five worldwide rankings. Rounding out the top 20 are Germany’s O2 World Hamburg and O2 World in Berlin, placing 12th and 17th respectively, with STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, California ranking 18th.
