AEG Teams Up with Read to a Child to Host Read Across America Day Celebration at 10th Street Elementary in Los Angeles

Event coincides with AEG’s 13-year partnership with national literacy nonprofit organization, Read to a Child, to increase literacy in Los Angeles

In celebration of Read Across America Day, AEG teamed up with one of its longstanding partners, Read to a Child, a national literacy nonprofit organization to host a Read Across America Day Celebration at 10th Street Elementary School in Los Angeles on February 22, 2019.

AEG employees transformed the school’s auditorium with Dr. Seuss themed decorations for the event in addition to reading to students grades 1-5 during the students’ lunchtime.

The event coincided with AEG’s 13-year partnership with Read to a Child as a Corporate Reading Partner to increase literacy in Los Angeles. Each week throughout the school year, AEG employees meet with students at Tenth Street Elementary in Pico-Union to read aloud to them as part of Read to a Child’s Lunchtime Reading Program. Since 2007, more than 200 AEG employees have volunteered more than 3,000 hours reading to students.

Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on the birthday of beloved children's author Dr. Seuss.
