Global Soccer Giants Juventus, Club Deportivo Guadalajara, Real Madrid CF, and FC Barcelona are Set to Face off July 22-23 at Allegiant Stadium

AEG, the world's leading sports and live entertainment company, and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) have launched a partnership in the run-up to AEG’s inaugural Soccer Champions Tour, a new marquee, global soccer event taking place between Friday, July 22 and Saturday, July 30. The new event will feature five of the world's most iconic soccer clubs competing in top-tier matches in the span of only nine days across four major U.S. host cities including: Las Vegas, San Francisco, Dallas, and Los Angeles. Participating clubs include current La Liga and UEFA Champions League winner Real Madrid CF, La Liga powerhouse FC Barcelona, Serie A's Juventus, and Liga MX's Club América and Club Deportivo Guadalajara. This tour marks the first return of play in the U.S. for Barcelona and Real Madrid since 2019 and for Juventus since 2018.

As part of the agreement brokered by AEG Global Partnerships, the LVCVA becomes the exclusive destination partner of the tour’s two Las Vegas matches, which are set to take place July 22-23 at Allegiant Stadium and will mark the official start of the tour. On Friday, July 22 Juventus will take on Club Deportivo Guadalajara and on Saturday, July 23 Real Madrid CF will face off against FC Barcelona.

This new partnership supports the tour and underscores both partner’s commitment to the growth of world-class sports across the city. Additionally, the premiere event reinforces Las Vegas’ position as one of the most internationally renowned sports and live entertainment destinations in the world and will bring a brand-new, global audience of passionate soccer fans and tourists to the world-class city.

“AEG is honored to kick off this tour in the iconic city of Las Vegas and we are thrilled to be able to provide soccer enthusiasts in the Las Vegas area with a unique opportunity to see some of their favorite European and Mexican clubs, competing at the highest level of the game in person at the award-winning Allegiant Stadium,” said Tom Braun, AEG Senior Vice President of Soccer & Business Operations and Business Development. “We look forward to expanding our relationship with the LVCVA and contributing to both the growth and popularity of North American soccer through additional marquee events like this in the future.”

With thousands of fans expected to descend upon Las Vegas for the highly anticipated matches, the Soccer Champions Tour provides a significant opportunity for the LVCVA to introduce visitors from around the world to the city along with some of its best sights and attractions. Known as the entertainment capital of the world, Las Vegas offers visitors state-of-the-art accommodations including more than 150,000 hotel rooms, over 14 million square feet of meeting and event space, daily flights to and from every major city in the U.S. and many abroad, year-round, show-stopping entertainment, exhilarating nightlife, high-profile events and endless world-class dining experiences, all of which will be available to those attending the tour’s local matches.

“Las Vegas’ ability to attract world-class sporting events has never been stronger, and welcoming these two international soccer matches over the course of one weekend is a testament to that,” said Steve Hill, CEO/President of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. “The ongoing partnership with AEG to host high-profile events is exciting for both Las Vegas and the sports world as we continue to work together to create unforgettable experiences for teams and their fans alike.”

Las Vegas is also one of the fastest growing sports markets in the U.S and the arrival of the Soccer Champions Tour represents a significant continuation of that growth. Since 2017, the city has become home to the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights, the WNBA’s Las Vegas Aces, the USL’s Las Vegas Lights, the AHL’s Henderson Silver Knights, and a second annual NASCAR Cup Series weekend. Additionally, in recent years, it has enjoyed incredible success in welcoming new major and minor league professional teams, in addition to building a new home for its MiLB team, the Las Vegas Aviators, at Las Vegas Ballpark.

Beginning with the successful launch of the NHL’s Las Vegas Golden Knights at the new T-Mobile Arena in 2017 and followed by the 2020 debut of the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders and the state-of-the-art, $2 billion domed Allegiant Stadium, which will serve as the backdrop for the Summer Champions Tour’s Las Vegas matches, the city continues to prove itself as a popular location for world-class competitions. Located adjacent to the world-famous Las Vegas Strip, Allegiant Stadium is an award-winning global events destination managed by ASM Global and will provide fans in attendance with a first-rate match-day experience.

“We’re proud to be bringing clubs of international significance to the Las Vegas market and we’re honored to have the support of the LVCVA, an organization that shares our commitment to growing world-class sports across the city,” said Nick Baker, Chief Operating Officer, AEG Global Partnerships. “This is a significant opportunity not only to give back to our global sports fans but also grow our business with world-class brand partners and we look forward to doing just that with more of these events to come in the future.”
