The Monarchs represent Manchester, New Hampshire and serve as the Los Angeles Kings' primary minor league affiliate. The Monarchs play in the prestigious American Hockey League (AHL), joining the league in the fall of 2001. The league draws over 6 million fans annually with the Monarchs consistently leading the league and is the highest quality hockey development program in North America.
 
The Monarchs play in the Verizon Wireless Arena. Built in November of 2001, the arena seats 9,916 for hockey games.
 
The Monarchs take a great deal of pride in giving back to the community. The Monarchs Care Foundation, the charitable arm of the hockey team, was founded in January of 2001. Under the umbrella of the Monarchs Care Foundation, the Monarchs are able to participate in numerous community service events annually and raise money to benefit local charities and organizations.
