Located in Australia’s largest provincial city, the facilities at the Centre include a 6,300 seat arena with retractable seating which provides a 4,500 sq m exhibition space.

The venue is set in the Newcastle Showground with facilities including the Centre Ring, Stables and Exhibition Pavilions.

The Centre has been managed by AEG Ogden since opening in 1992, over which time the venue has been home to a National Basketball team for 9 years, Swifts Netball Team and the Hunter Jaegers Netball Team until the restructuring of the competition for the 2008 season. It is now one of the three home venues for the Sydney

As part of the AEG Ogden Arena Network, Newcastle attracts a number of concert and other events which tour as well as family events, such as Disney on Ice and sporting events such as indoor motor cross and bull-riding.
Newcastle Showgrounds
The Newcastle Entertainment Centre is set in the Newcastle Showground with facilities including the Centre Ring, Stables and Exhibition Pavilions, providing a convention, exhibition and function venue for the City.

It is the home for the Newcastle Agricultural Show which runs for about 3 days and uses all the facilities on site, including the Entertainment Centre.

Throughout the year, the venues are used for a range of exhibitions, sales and shows, including the annual Home Show.
